Dear families, dear parents,
We hope that you are doing well during this already very busy time of the school year.
Today, we would like to inform you about some important points regarding everyday school life.
1. Parent representatives:
Some classes do not yet have representatives.
We are still looking for parent representatives for the following classes: 3e1, 4e2, 6e6, 2nd1, and Tl3.
The primary role of the parent representative is to act as a spokesperson for the families and to communicate any problems or common concerns of the class to the school. It is not a heavy workload: no weekly meetings, no time-consuming commitments. Simply a support, an important link between parents and the school.
If you are still hesitant, remember that this role is very valuable for good communication within the school community. If you have any questions, we are happy to help!
2. Teacher absences: understanding the different situations
We would also like to clarify an issue that has been raised by many parents in recent weeks: teacher absences.
We had the opportunity to discuss this issue with the school management. It is important to distinguish between different types of situations:
* Absences for personal reasons: illness, family emergencies, or unforeseen events—human situations that can affect any of us.
* Absences due to professional development: These play a central role in the quality of teaching. The school actively invests in training so that teachers can strengthen their skills, enrich their teaching methods, and offer our students modern, high-quality instruction.
* Absences related to school trips: Teachers may be asked to accompany another class on an educational trip, thereby contributing to the diversity of projects offered to students.
We understand that from the perspective of students and parents, an absence represents a gap in their education. However, these situations correspond to very different realities.
Nevertheless, substitute lessons are organized whenever possible, as the school naturally wants to reduce the number of missed lessons to an absolute minimum.
Our children’s education at the LFV is not limited to the four walls of their classroom. We all want our children to benefit from a variety of educational activities and enriching trips. It is therefore important to recognize that teachers are sometimes busy preparing, organizing, and supervising these activities, even if they involve other classes.
3. Christmas market: We are looking for your talents!
Our Christmas market is just around the corner!
Are you creative? Do you have a special talent, passion, or expertise?
Don’t hesitate to offer, display, and sell your creations: decorations, baked goods, handmade items, crafts… This market is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the talents of our community and support school projects.
